Models are available for attaching to existing hardened concrete wet concrete as well as wood. Figure 1 12 shows the bending moment versus rotation relationship for perma. The arrows point at the hardware and bolts connecting the post to the concrete lock. I prefer this method because it creates solid bearing of the deck all the way down to the concrete pier.

The bcs allows for the post to beam connection of 2 2xs to a 4x post or 3 2xs to a 6x post. In this connection the bottom of the post has a 3 4 stub tenon that is routed into a plywood sub floor. The drawing at the bottom requires a new steel reinforced concrete foundation. The top of the post base straddles the wood support post and provides nail holes which should be filled to add strength to the connection. I never use lag bolts. Post and column bases secure the bottom of posts or columns to concrete and are perfect for decks or patio covers.

Post base on a plywood deck. I then use through bolts that pass through the beam and this post extension to complete the connection. To concrete connection do not behave like the wood post or the concrete pier they connect. The remainder of the 6x6 post laps over the inner or outer vertical face of the beam.
